giant cell myocarditis

giant cell myocarditis
a subtype of acute isolated myocarditis characterized by multinucleate giant cells and other inflammatory cells including lymphocytes, plasma cells, and macrophages, and by ventricular dilatation, mural thrombi, and widespread areas of necrosis. The term is sometimes used synonymously with granulomatous m. or may be distinguished from it as not including granuloma formation.
