Cox proportional hazards model
- Cox proportional hazards model
- a method of analysis of multiple factors (variables) that influence an actuarial curve of the risk of a given negative outcome such as disease occurrence or death. A hazard rate is computed for each separate variable (e.g., among those patients with that factor who had not previously suffered a negative outcome, how many subsequently suffered the negative outcome during a short interval) and cumulative hazard rates are computed for the combinations of variables that exist in actual situations.
