Methylobacterium
Meth·yl·o·bac·te·ri·um (meth″ə-lo-bak-tērґe-əm) a genus of rose-colored, gram-negative, aerobic, rod-shaped bacteria of the family Methylobacteriaceae that can facultatively use methane or methanol as sources of carbon and energy; some species have occasionally been found in opportunistic infections such as bacteremia or those in the respiratory tract or urinary tract.
