meth·yl·az·oxy·meth·a·nol (meth″əl-əz-ok″se-methґə-nol) a substance that is formed after hydrolysis of cycasin or macrozamin by intestinal bacteria and is carcinogenic to the liver, kidneys, intestine, and lungs.
