Meloidae

Meloidae
Me·lo·i·dae (məloґĭ-de) the blister beetles, a family of beetles whose dried bodies raise blisters when rubbed on human skin and are sometimes used as counterirritants. Genera include Epicauta and Lytta (which contain cantharidin), Paederus (which contains pederin), Psalydolytta, and Sessinia. See also cantharidin poisoning, under poisoning.
