mal·o·nate-semi·al·de·hyde de·hy·dro·gen·ase (acet·y·lat·ing) (malґə-nāt sem″e-alґdə-hīd de-hiґdro-jən-ās ə-setґə-lāt″ing) [EC 1.2.1.18] an enzyme of the oxidoreductase class that catalyzes the decarboxylation of malonate semialdehyde, linking it to coenzyme A to form acetyl coenzyme A; it uses NAD(P)+ as an electron acceptor.
