- a cutaneous and more superficial type of lymphangioma, usually occurring either on the upper portion of the limbs, in the axillary or inguinal folds (usually localized to one region), or on the oral mucosa, especially the tongue; it consists of a grapelike group of thin-walled translucent lymph-filled vesicles that sometimes have a verrucous surface. Some lesions have a deeper component of lymphatic obstruction and lymphedema with localized swelling. See also vascular nevus, under nevus.
