Lp(a) lipoprotein

Lp(a) lipoprotein
a lipoprotein particle with a density of 1.05–1.10 g/mL, containing apolipoprotein B-100 as well as an antigenically unique apolipoprotein. It is normally a minor plasma constituent but occurs at vastly elevated levels in some individuals, apparently as an autosomal dominant trait; such elevations have been correlated with increased risk of heart disease. Called also sinking pre-β-l. and HDL1>.
