borderline leprosy

borderline leprosy
an immunologically unstable type of leprosy, transitional between the tuberculoid and lepromatous forms and having clinical and histological features of both types; it may evolve toward the former by a reversal reaction or toward the latter by a downgrading reaction. Called also dimorphous or intermediate l.
