- Lach·no·spi·ra (lak″no-spiґrə) [Gr. lachnos woolly hair + Gr. speira coil] a genus of gram-negative anaerobic bacteria of the family Bacteroidaceae, made up of curved, rod-shaped cells found in the rumen of cattle. The type species is L. multipaґris.
