kisspeptin
kiss·pep·tin (kis-pepґtin) 1. a 54–amino acid peptide that suppresses metastasis of cancer cells and plays a role in the onset of puberty. 2. any of various smaller peptides formed by proteolytic cleavage of the 54–amino acid compound, having a variety of functions in various mammals. Defs. 1 and 2 called also metastin.
