solitary keratoacanthoma

solitary keratoacanthoma
a manifestation of keratoacanthoma seen primarily in middle-aged to elderly persons, especially white males, consisting of a firm, erythematous papule that enlarges rapidly to form a dome-shaped, skin-colored nodule with an umbilicated center, then slowly involutes and leaves a small focus of scarring. It occurs primarily on sunlight-exposed areas, particularly the face, neck, upper limbs, and backs of the hands.
