anomalous pancreaticobiliary junction

communication between the common bile duct and the pancreatic duct outside the sphincter of Oddi, allowing pancreatic fluid and bile to mix, resulting in choledochal cysts, biliary tract carcinoma, and obstructive jaundice or pancreatitis secondary to formation of protein plugs.
