position isomerism

position isomerism
a type of constitutional isomerism in which the position occupied by an atom or group differs with reference to the same fundamental carbon chain; for example, n-propyl chloride, CH3CH2CH2Cl, and isopropyl chloride, CH3CHClCH3.
