iothalamate meglumine
[USP] a radiopaque medium consisting of iothalamic acid in water for injection, prepared with the aid of meglumine. Alone, it is used intravascularly in angiography, arteriography, venography, computed tomographic brain or body imaging, and excretory urography; intraductally in cholangiography and cholangiopancreatography; intrasynovially in arthrography; and intravesically or intraureterally in cystography, cystourethrography, and pyelography. It is also often used in combination with iothalamate sodium.
