juvenile acquired hypothyroidism
hypothyroidism with an insidious onset in childhood, caused by thyrotropin deficiency; it is marked by slowing and cessation of growth, thickening and yellowing of the skin, coarse facies, delayed pubertal development, and short stature at maturity.
