hypercarotenemia
hy·per·car·o·ten·emia (hi″pər-kar″ə-tə-neґme-ə) an elevated level of carotene in the blood, resulting from excessive ingestion of carotenoids or from decreased ability to convert carotenoids to vitamin A; it is often characterized by yellowing of the skin (see carotenosis). Called also carotenemia.
