het·ero·he·mol·y·sin (het″ər-o-he-molґə-sin) 1. a hemolysin occurring spontaneously in the blood of an untreated animal that will hemolyze the blood cells of an animal of another species. 2. hemolysin established in one species by deliberate immunization with blood cells of an animal of another species.
