indirect hernia
indirect inguinal hernia an inguinal hernia that goes into the inguinal canal by an indirect route, leaving the abdomen through the deep inguinal ring and passing down obliquely through the inguinal canal lateral to the inferior epigastric artery. Called also oblique or oblique inguinal h.
