Bochdalek hernia

Bochdalek hernia
a congenital diaphragmatic hernia due to failure of closure of the pleuroperitoneal hiatus (foramen of Bochdalek). Called also foramen of Bochdalek h., parasternal h., and retrosternal h. See illustration.
