gyri temporales transversi
[TA] transverse temporal gyri: the transverse convolutions marking the posterior extremity of the superior temporal gyrus and lying mostly in the lateral sulcus; usually two, anterior and posterior, but sometimes single on one or both sides. Called also Heschl gyri or convolutions.
