condylar guidance

condylar guidance
the path that the horizontal rotation axis of the condyles travels during normal mandibular opening, measured in degrees as related to the Frankfort horizontal plane. It also influences mandibular movements from the temporomandibular joint, articular guidance, or condylar elements. Called also condylar guide. See also under inclination.
