Potter-Bucky grid

Potter-Bucky grid
a type of parallel grid that is an integral part of the x-ray table, located below the table top and above a cassette tray. It decreases the amount of secondary radiation reaching the film, thus increasing detail and contrast, and moves during exposure so that no grid lines appear in the radiograph.
