- a rare disorder consisting of necrosis of the walls of the lower airways, filling of the lumen with granular necrotic material, and eventually areas of lung consolidation; many cases are due to a hypersensitivity reaction to infection by fungi, such as with allergic bronchopulmonary aspergillosis.
