- granuloma trichophyticum a rare form of tinea corporis of the lower legs, also infecting the hair shafts, caused by Trichophyton rubrum. It is characterized by elevated, circumscribed, red to blue granulomas, either disseminated or in chains. After several months, lesions either are absorbed slowly or undergo necrosis and leave depressed scars. Called also Majocchi g. and tinea profunda.
