specific granule
a type of neutrophil granule found primarily in mature cells; most are released into the extracellular fluid. They contain lactoferrin, plasminogen activator, leukocyte alkaline activator, and collagenase, as well as membrane-bound molecules that they release onto the cell surface. Called also secondary g.
