primary gout

primary gout
gout that seems to be innate, not a consequence of an acquired disorder or condition such as use of thiazide diuretics, and not secondary to an inborn error of metabolism such as glycogen storage disease, type I; it afflicts almost entirely men from the fourth to sixth decades, as well as a few postmenopausal women.
