- D-gly·cer·ic·ac·i·de·mia (gli-ser″ik-as″ĭ-deґme-ə) an autosomal recessive disorder characterized by an increased concentration of D-glyceric acid in the blood, believed to be due to a defect in glycerate dehydrogenase and characterized by hyperglycinemia without ketosis or acidosis, delayed psychomotor development, mental retardation, and seizures.
