synaptic glomerulus
a glomerulus formed by the coming together of a number of end-feet around a central dendrite, all enclosed by a layer of neuroglial cells; found in the sensory nuclei of the thalamus, in the olfactory bulbs, and in a few other locations in the brain. See also olfactory g.
