galantamine hydrobromide
ga·lan·ta·mine hy·dro·bro·mide (gə-lanґtə-mēn) the hydrobromide salt of an alkaloid obtained from the daffodil Narcissus pseudonarcissus; it is a reversible competitive inhibitor of acetylcholinesterase and is administered orally in the treatment of mild to moderate Alzheimer disease. It is believed to act by increasing the concentration of acetylcholine and so enhancing cholinergic function.
