Fusobacterium nucleatum

Fusobacterium nucleatum
a species, divided into several subspecies, isolated from the normal mouth, the upper respiratory, genital, and gastrointestinal tracts, and infections of the mouth, lungs, and brain. It is the organism most commonly found, in association with spirochetes (Treponema vincentii), in acute necrotizing ulcerative gingivitis.
