5-formyltetrahydrofolate cyclo-ligase
- 5-formyltetrahydrofolate cyclo-ligase
- 5-for·myl·tet·ra·hy·dro·fo·late cy·clo-li·gase (form″əl-tet″rə-hi″dro-foґlāt si″klo-liґgās) [EC 6.3.3.2] an enzyme of the ligase class that catalyzes the ATP-dependent formation of 5,10-methenyltetrahydrofolate from 5-formyltetrahydrofolate (folinic acid). The reaction provides a means of utilization of folinic acid in the absence of dihydrofolate reductase activity. Called also 5,10-methenyltetrahydrofolate synthetase.
