formatio reticularis spinalis
[TA] spinal reticular formation: numerous small islets of gray matter and intersecting myelinated fibers located lateral to the posterior horn of the spinal cord at the interface of gray and white matter, especially at cervical levels; in the thoracic cord, the formation occurs immediately dorsal to the lateral horn. Called also reticular formation of spinal cord.
