[USP] a mixture of the sodium salts of the sulfate esters of estrone and equilin, derived from pregnant mares' urine or prepared synthetically from estrone and equilin; the actions and uses are those of estrogens, administered orally, intravenously, intramuscularly, or intravaginally.
