epithelium posterius corneae
- epithelium posterius corneae
- [TA] endothelium of anterior chamber: the single layer of flattened squamous cells lining the posterior surface of the cornea and facing the anterior chamber of the eye. The cells have prominent interdigitations and tight junctions and gap junctions between them; they control fluid and solid transport across the posterior layer of the cornea and so control corneal hydration. Called also corneal endothelium.
