[DSM-IV] a period of predominantly elevated, expansive, or irritable mood accompanied by some of the following symptoms: inflated self-esteem or grandiosity, decreased need for sleep, talkativeness, flight of ideas, distractibility, hyperactivity or psychomotor agitation, hypersexuality, and reckless behavior.
