An enzyme catalyzing hydrolytic removal of two orthophosphate residues from adenosine 5′-triphosphate to yield adenosine 5′-monophosphate; i.e., ATP + 2H2O → AMP + 2Pi. SYN: ADPase, ATP-diphosphatase.
