craniodiaphyseal dysplasia
an autosomal recessive condition in which progressive cranial and facial hyperostosis results in significant distortion of the shape of the head; the diaphyses of the long bones are expanded, and mental retardation usually occurs. An autosomal dominant form has also been reported.
