aor·to·pexy (a-orґto-pek″se) [aorta + -pexy] suturing of the anterior walls of the aortic arch and right subclavian artery to the sternum in order to pull the attached trachea to an open position; performed for relief of airway obstruction caused by compression of the trachea in tracheomalacia.
