- [TA] articular disk of sternoclavicular joint: a pad of fibrocartilage, the circumference of which is connected to the articular capsule of the sternoclavicular joint; it is attached superiorly to the clavicle and inferiorly to the first costal cartilage near its union with the sternum, and it divides the joint cavity into two parts. Called also meniscus of sternoclavicular joint.
