- di·hy·dro·lip·o·yl·lys·ine-res·i·due suc·cin·yl·trans·fer·ase (di-hi″dro-lip″o-əl-liґsēn rezґĭ-doo suk″sin-əl-transґfər-ās) [EC 2.3.1.61] an enzyme of the transferase class that is a component of the multienzyme α-ketoglutarate dehydrogenase complex (q.v.). The lipoyl group of this enzyme is reductively succinylated by α-ketoglutarate dehydrogenase and then catalyzes the transfer of succinyl from its lipoamide chain to coenzyme A to form succinyl coenzyme A. Called also transsuccinylase.
