,3-dideoxyadenosine 2,3-di·de·oxy·aden·o·sine (dide-okse-ə-denґo-sēn) a dideoxynucleoside in which the base is adenine, in plasma rapidly converted to 2′,3′-dideoxyinosine by the enzyme adenosine deaminase; it is used as an antiretroviral agent in the treatment of acquired immunodeficiency syndrome.
