der·ren·gue (da-rāngґga) [Sp., from derrengar to dislocate the hip] a fatal neuropathy of cattle seen in El Salvador following ingestion of the plant Melochia pyramidata, characterized by weakness and paralysis starting in the hindlimbs and progressing forward.
