dens evaginatus

dens evaginatus
an anomalous tubercle protruding from the occlusal surface of a posterior tooth or the lingual surface of an anterior tooth. It contains a core of dentin surrounding an extension of the pulp and results from abnormal proliferation of the inner enamel epithelium into the stellate reticulum of the enamel organ during tooth development.
