Kaplan-Meier survival curve
- Kaplan-Meier survival curve
- a consistent estimate of the survival curve that can be computed from randomly censored data. At each patient death (or other endpoint) the conditional probability of survival during the interval since the last death is calculated as the number of patients observed to survive beyond that point (i.e., those who have not yet died and have not left the trial for other reasons) divided by the number at risk. The value of the survival curve at that point is calculated as the product of the conditional probabilities of survival for all of the intervals up to that point. Called also product-limit estimate.
