gelatin culture medium
a medium containing extract or infusion broth solidified with 12 per cent gelatin, used to determine gelatinase activity in the identification of Serratia and Clostridium. The medium may be supplemented with thioglycolate for cultivation of Clostridium in an aerobic environment.
