deoxycholate (Leifson) agar
an agar medium containing peptone, lactose, sodium and ferric citrates, sodium chloride, sodium deoxycholate, neutral red, and potassium buffer, used for the isolation of Enterobacteriaceae and differentiation of lactose-fermenting and non–lactose-fermenting species. Called also LD a.
