an·odon·tia (an″o-donґshə) [an-1 + odont- + -ia] congenital absence of the teeth; it may involve all (total a.) or only some of the teeth (partial a., hypodontia), and both the deciduous and the permanent dentition, or only teeth of the permanent dentition.
