Corynebacterium pseudotuberculosis
- Corynebacterium pseudotuberculosis
- a pathogenic toxin-producing species usually found in animals other than humans. It causes caseous lymphadenitis, abscesses, and chronic purulent infections, especially in sheep and goats, and contagious acne of horses. Occasional human disease may form from contact with infected animals or food. Called also Preisz-Nocard bacillus.
