A superficial intradermal capillary acquired telangiectasis, over which there is a wartlike hyperkeratosis and acanthosis. SYN: keratoangioma, telangiectasia verrucosa, telangiectatic wart. [angio- + G. keras, horn, + -oma, tumor]
- diffuse a. SYN: Fabry disease.
- Fordyce a. asymptomatic vascular papules of the scrotum, appearing in adults.
- Mibelli angiokeratomas telangiectatic small papules of the extremities, common in adolescent girls.

a localized collection of thin-walled blood vessels covered by a cap of warty material. It is most often seen as an isolated malformation in the genital skin of the elderly or on the hands and feet of children. It is not malignant and its cause is unknown. Angiokeratomas may be removed surgically. Multiple angiokeratomas affecting the viscera and skin are seen as a rare inherited and fatal disease (Fabry's disease).

an·gio·ker·a·to·ma (an″je-o-ker″ə-toґmə) [angio- + keratoma] a discrete, skin colored or reddish telangiectasia having a tendency to undergo secondary epithelial changes such as acanthosis or hyperkeratosis. An underlying vascular abnormality is present in many cases. Called also angiokeratosis and telangiectatic wart.
